The Provincial Election Commission of East Pakistan was declared Election Commission, Bangladesh after gaining independence in 1971. In the 1990s, as per the decision of the Cabinet Division, work was conducted in the DC office. At present, Kaptai Upazila Election Officer's Office is being run with 05 unions as an upazila of Rangamati Hill District in its own Upazila Server Station and Office Building.
